The Dead Weight Tester is generally regarded as the most accurate method in calibration of pressure instruments, and is either used as a primary or secondary pressure standard.

Application: Calibration of industrial Dead Weight Testers, Pressure Gauges, Transmitters, Transducers, Transfer standards, Recorders, etc; direct, high accuracy measurement of pressure in system and process.

Operating Principle: When fluid Pressure generated by a screw pump acts on the bottom of a vertically free floating piston the force produced pushes the load free piston vertically upwards. The piston floats freely in its cylinder and the pressure in the circuit will be determined by the weights loaded on the piston divided by the effective area of the piston with corrections for value of acceleration due to gravity, air buoyancy, surface tension and datum level difference.
 
 
Accuracy: + 0.025%, + 0.007%.
Ranges: Various models from 0-1000 kg/cm2. Both single and double range.
Units: kg/cm2, bar, kPa, MPa, lb/in2, kN/m2or any other unit.
Operating Medium:

Oil (Mineral or Sebacate); Water for Oxygen Gauges.
Uncertainty: Better than +0.007%.
Design: Bell type weight carrier with overhanging angular ring weights.
Piston Material:

L.P: Tungsten Carbide.
H.P: Tungsten Carbide.

Cylinder Material: Hardened artificially aged martenistic Steel/Tungsten Carbide.
Pump:
Built - in screw pump of adequate capacity to generate pressure by turning a handle permitting easy and accurate settings.
Weight Material: Stainless Steel (Series 3 Non - magnetic austenetic).
Electrical Motor Rotation: Rotation at Approximately 30 R.P.M. for free piston and weights as an optional.
Constant Volume Valve: Can be provided as a optional item.
Certification: Traceable to international standards.
 

Each unit includes (as standard accessories)1 gauge connector of 1/2" BSP and complete with one set of weights in a storage box, 1 dust cover, instruction manual, 1 tin of oil (1 litre) and a tool box containing, Angle connection for testing back mounting gauges,1 pointer puller, 1 pointer punch, adaptors of M 20 x 1.5, 1/8", 1/4" & 3/8" BSP & NPT, 4 spanners, 1 Allan Key, 1 screw driver and 1 set of spare seals.The tester and weights are supplied in seperate carrying boxes.
